🎨 The Retro Aesthetic
This site embraces the pixel-art, neon-glow aesthetic of the 1990s web. Back then, websites were personal expressions—digital homes lovingly crafted by individuals, not algorithms. The retro look is a reminder of a time when the web was more human-scale, experimental, and weird.
By using monospace fonts, bright neon colors, simple geometric layouts, and VHS-inspired effects, we celebrate digital vernacular art and the playful DIY spirit that defined personal homepages on platforms like GeoCities and, today, NeoCities.
🌐 Independent Hosting & the Open Commons
This website is hosted on independent infrastructure—part of a growing network of community-run servers, CHATON collectives, and peer-hosted services. These platforms prioritize user autonomy, data privacy, and collective governance over profit-driven models.
By choosing independent hosting, we support: Commons-based peer production • Decentralized infrastructure • Community stewardship • Digital autonomy • Resistance to platform monopolies
