Step-by-Step Guide to Publishing on NeoCities & FTP

📦 Step 1: Export Your Site from Silex
1. Open your site in Silex editor
2. Click on the "Publish" button in the top toolbar
3. Select "Download zip file" to export a fully static version of your site
⚠️ Note: This only works if your site does NOT use CMS or external data sources. Static sites only!
🌐 Step 2: Upload to NeoCities
1. Create a free account at neocities.org
2. Go to your site dashboard and click "Edit Site"
3. Extract the ZIP file you downloaded from Silex
4. Use the drag-and-drop file manager to upload all extracted files (HTML, CSS, images, etc.)
5. Make sure index.html is in the root directory
6. Visit your site at yourusername.neocities.org
🚀 Alternative: Publish via FTP from Silex
If you have your own server or FTP hosting, you can publish directly from Silex:
1. In Silex, click "Publish" in the toolbar
2. Choose "FTP" as the publishing method
3. Enter your FTP credentials:
- FTP Host (e.g., ftp.yourdomain.com)
- Username
- Password
- Target path (e.g., /public_html or /www)
4. Click "Publish" and Silex will upload your static files directly to your FTP server

- ✅ Optimize images before uploading (use WebP or compressed JPG/PNG)
- ✅ Test your site locally before publishing
- ✅ Use relative paths for links (not absolute URLs)
